This post
has nothing to do with Gautham Menon's tamil feature film with the same
name.
But I couldn't think of a more apt
title for my post.
This is a
story about a common girl (my equivalent common man), who was bitten by rabid
dogs on her way back from work.
The attack
was so vicious that it made headlines.
The
saddest part was how WE as a society, reacted to this incident-
By now you'd
have guessed this is about the Delhi incident that happened on Dec 16th 2012
when a girl was bitten by these dogs in a bus!
(if you are dog lover, please don't take offence, instead of the dog you can think about any other animal here - which has no trace of humanity left in it!)
Even though the other criminals were given death sentence. The juvenile
rapist is in a detention home and will be out in 3 years.
If this is a
problem concerning everyone (even the male folk) would they still talk
themselves into "adjusting"?? Won't they seriously think about
eradicating the "problem"?
Perhaps some
serious empathy would help here!
Why aren't
we thinking that these kind of incidents happen in a society which is dysfunctional and SICK and NOT in a society which boasts of its great sanskaar/kalacharam?
